Be Aware of NY Agriculture WebQuest, Grade 3

Apples must be harvested at the right time so that they are at their best quality when sold. If they are picked too early, they may taste sour. If apples are picked too late, they get mushy and soft. Apples are harvested in the fall, and are usually picked by hand. Once picked, they are put into crates to be transported. In this picture, the tractor will pull the apples back to a building where people can sort, process, or sell them.
